A világszerte növekvő forgalmi terhelések egyre fontosabbá teszik a fenntartás és az élettartam kérdéseit.
Az aszfalt megoldást kínál mindezekre. Számtalan kutatás bizonyítja, emeli ki, hogy a közlekedési infrastruktúrában (is – !!!!) meghatározó gazdasági jelentősége van a megfelelő minőségű és gyakoriságú fenntartás/karbantartás elvégzésének! Ez olyan nagy jelentőséggel bír, hogy hatással van a nemzetek társadalmi közérzetére is. Egy 2014-es PIARC Jelentés (Útügyi Világszövetség) ismételten felhívja a figyelmet e téma fontosságára. Mindezek fényében (is) az aszfalt a jó megoldás, hiszen gyorsan építhető és szinte azonnal forgalomba helyezhető, tehát a felújításokkal járó közlekedési bonyodalmakat a minimumra szorítja, miközben gazdaságosan jó minőséget, tartósságot ad. Az aszfaltburkolatok viszko-elasztikus viselkedése az egyik legfőbb kulcsa mindennek.

On 16-17 December 2020, EAPA and the research project PavementLCM co-organised a webinar on the Sustainability Assessment of Asphalt Pavements, which gathered more than 150 experts from 35 countries around the world. In this video, Dr Breixo Gomez, EAPA Technical Director and Prof. Davide LoPresti, Coordinator of PavementLCM, summarise the highlights of the Webinar and discuss how to further develop the topic in future events.

Increases in the European road freight transport, vehicles weight and frequency of extreme climatic events are deteriorating the European road network at an anomalously fast rate, bringing it close to the end of its service life and requiring more frequent maintenance operations. In this unfavourable scenario, road transport is also nowadays experiencing one of the greatest revolutions of its history, with the arrival of new users, such as the autonomous, electric and high-capacity vehicles, which will help mankind to fight Climate Change and increase road safety. However, all these new vehicles have also characteristics, which may reduce the durability of the road pavements. This third video of the EAPA Series “Generation Asphalt”, analyses the potential risks of the new mobility and how the asphalt industry is getting ready for the challenge.
